Dr. Oyetewa Asempa was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and then went on to graduate summa cum laude from Howard University in Washington, DC. She completed her medical training at University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, her internship at George Washington University, and then her residency training at the Harvard Dermatology program, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She specializes in hair loss and scalp disorders.
Dr. Asempa, who is based in Houston, TX, is an AAD social media ambassador and has been on multiple advisory boards. She is obsessed with traveling the world, writing short stories, and performing her original works of spoken word poetry.
